2 The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown

But of course, my first review would have to be this EPIC novel, as I would like to call it. This novel is the ultimate destination for all those who want to read about religious history, semiotics, and codes, this is THE book, as are the other Dan Brown novels.
The plot starts with the protagonist Dr Robert Langdon sleeping in the Ritz hotel in Paris. He is visited by a judicial police officer who takes him to the Louvre museum in which its curator was murdered. Now this Langdon is unsure how he is related to the incident, but he soon finds out that not only he is related but he is entrusted to a quest as old as time itself. He must first decrypt the codes left by the dying man with the help of a young cryptologist Sophie Neveu, only after that they realise what they have been looking for. They uncover a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci - and suggests the answer to an age old mystery that stretches deep into the vault of history. An object thought lost forever, a deadly race to possess it. Yes the most powerful men in the world seek to destroy the very thing that can prove to be a boon to mankind.
Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly make sense of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost, and mankind doomed to ignorance.

In my opinion this book is a no brainer. Every person who enjoys brain food must read it!
